What are the processes after welding the module section of the module pack production line?

2025-01-03

After the module section of the module pack production line is welded, a series of follow-up processes are required to ensure the quality and performance of the module. The following is a detailed explanation of the main processes after welding:

1. Dust removal after module welding

During the module welding process, metal particles and other impurities may be produced. In order to ensure the cleanliness of the module and the smooth progress of subsequent processes, dust removal is required. This is usually achieved through dust removal equipment (such as cyclone dust collectors, bag dust collectors, etc.), which can effectively remove particles and impurities in the exhaust gas and create good conditions for subsequent treatment processes.

2. Module EOL test

EOL (End of Line) testing is one of the important processes after welding of the module section of the module pack production line. It mainly conducts comprehensive performance and safety testing on the assembled battery modules. EOL testing usually includes the following steps:

Test startup and identification: By scanning the QR code or barcode on the battery module, the test equipment can automatically obtain the relevant information of the module, such as model, batch number, production date, etc., and automatically call the preset settings based on this information test recipe (test procedure).

Voltage collection and temperature monitoring: The test equipment will automatically collect the total voltage of the battery module and the voltage of the individual cells to evaluate the consistency and health of the voltage. At the same time, the internal temperature of the battery module is monitored in real time through the built-in temperature sensor or external temperature probe to determine the thermal management performance of the module.

Internal resistance test: Use a dedicated internal resistance tester to calculate the internal resistance of the battery module by measuring the voltage and current changes of the battery module under specific conditions to evaluate its electrical performance.

Insulation withstand voltage test: Use a high-voltage tester to conduct insulation resistance and withstand voltage tests on the battery module to ensure that the insulation performance between the module and the shell and the module's ability to withstand high voltages meet safety standards.

Other performance tests: Depending on the requirements of the test formula, it may also include other performance test items such as capacity test, charge and discharge performance test, OCV and SOC determination records (self-discharge inspection).

Data recording and analysis: During the test process, all test data will be recorded in real time and saved in the test equipment. After the test is completed, the test equipment will process and analyze the collected data and compare it with the preset standard values to determine whether the battery module is qualified.

Result determination and test report: Based on the results of data analysis, the testing equipment will automatically determine whether the battery module has passed the EOL test. Qualified products will automatically flow into the next station for subsequent processing, while unqualified products will be automatically discharged or marked for subsequent processing. At the same time, the testing equipment will also generate detailed test reports for subsequent quality traceability and analysis.

The working principle of the EOL test station is to conduct comprehensive performance and safety testing of the battery module through automated and semi-automated testing processes, and determine whether it is qualified or not based on the test results. This workflow ensures that battery modules can meet predetermined performance and quality standards before leaving the factory, providing consumers with safe and reliable battery products.

3. Module offline

Modules that have passed the EOL test need to be transferred to the pack line or material pallet using appropriate equipment (such as gantry crane) for subsequent assembly and packaging work. This step marks the end of the module production process in the module section of the pack production line and prepares to enter the next production stage.

To sum up, the post-welding process of the module section of the module pack production line mainly includes steps such as dust removal after module welding, module EOL testing and module offline. The smooth progress of these processes is of great significance to ensure the quality and performance of the module.
